Revier Hotel Dubai

Dubai

From the Alps straight to the desert dunes. The Revier hotel is designed around a timeless Swiss ethos, everything has been crafted to inspire modern nomads to script their experiences and connect with others. The lighting concept followed the typical Scandinavian design approach in lighting culture.

Tight budgets were one of the challenges of the project, which was overcome by balancing the required lighting levels in a clever way between decorative and architectural lighting elements, whilst still achieving a cosy atmosphere. Our design ensured that all the custom decorative fixtures had the correct lamps to balance the required lighting.

As it is a 4-star hotel, the overall interior design was “to the point” with basic aesthetics. We created some interesting lighting details that enhanced the overall design whilst still adding functional lighting.

The Scandinavian design allowed for plenty of natural materials including greenery. Ensuring that these natural elements had enough light to grow without fighting the design involved balancing the lighting levels accordingly. We achieved the requirements by utilizing basic linear LED fixtures integrated into the millworks.

Art elements tie the complete narrative and design together. Our design team were able to beautifully accentuate these artworks by careful coordination with the artwork consultant and interior design team to ensure the lighting was part of the complete package. The focal piece behind the reception is evident on what drastic impact lighting has on art and how the complete space is elevated by the lighting.

The F&B areas are fun and casual, reflected withing the lighting design by accentuating the quirky elements of the environment. The majority of the F&B areas had to be multifunctional to allow for different operational setups and versatile enough to accommodate different events.

Revier as a brand focus on integrating the guest with the natural environment by utilizing a lot of natural materials and other sustainable design elements in all their properties.

We designed the lighting to be “light” and precise ensuring the required lighting levels are met with minimal fixtures and keeping to the sustainable design philosophy. This design approach assisted both with the budget and overall efficiency of the lighting system.

A Schneider control system was used with various lighting scenes automated throughout the day. The corridors utilized presence sensors to activate the corridors only when required.

Only LED fixtures were used.
