Taj Exotica

Dubai

Entering the lobby, guests are welcomed into luxury with the vast skylight ceiling capturing the sun and reflecting the light and openness across the entire space. At night, a signature design diamond flow chandelier glitters with over 11,000 individually lit crystals. Each crystal is individually controllable, and a mesmerizing flow of active light is programmed to activate the entire space. The piece sets the design tone for the entire resort.

Moving over into the lobby lounge the pillars are treated with fluted natural wood pieces that are individually lit from the top and bottom. The lighting accentuates the open grain of each unique piece of wood to add a natural flow of light into the space. As these pillars add a unique lighting element, our team had to carefully balance the rest of the architectural lighting to achieve a harmonized space.

There are 6 unique F&B outlets in this property each with its own tone enhanced by the lighting design. It was essential to the project that we integrated the lighting into each of the the interior designs the accentuate the personal identity of each space, as highlighted by the eccentric décor and art that typified the environments.

Project Gallery

Combining modern Arabian lifestyle design with the essence of Dubai, the rooms follow a soothing colour palette typical to a high-end luxury resort. The lighting design enhances the soft indirect approach to ensure the guest feel relaxed even with higher lighting levels as shown in this typical bathroom.

Square deep recessed downlights were sympathetically used to fit in with the interior design elements.

We used a DALI control system in all the public areas. All common areas are automated throughout the day with preset scenes. All the function areas are individually controlled including the dynamic chandeliers.

This property is designed as a resort with a strong connection to beach and see it is located on. The overall color scheme is “light” and “fresh” that assisted us to use lower wattage fixtures, achieving an overall lower load for the lighting system.

Fixtures were sourced from high quality European brands each with a high efficacy rating.

This project utilized daylight sensors placed at windows to adapt the lighting scenes based on the amount of light entering the space. Presence sensors in corridors turn the lights off when it is unoccupied. All this technology assist in the overall power saving of the property.
